Reuvers in victory lane again at Raceway Park
By Corey Butler Jr.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. – Donny Reuvers won his third feature of the year in the Country Joe Homes Late Models Sunday at Raceway Park. Reuvers dodged a bevy of spinning cars and cautions alike as he worked his way through the field to claim the victory.  Reuvers was one of the few that was not involved in any incidents and that help propel him to the front and take the lead over Gary Petrash on the 11th circuit.  Petrash battled back late in the race to mount a challenge, but a late caution slow the field again.  On the restart, Matt Goede used the outside line to get around Petrash and get the second position.  Petrash finished third.

Bill Woodworth, the defending Turtle’s Bar & Grill Hobby Stock champion, found himself in victory lane after winning the 25-lap contest. Woodworth wrestled the lead away from Tim Lewis three laps into the race and drove away from the field.  A few laps later, Bryan Turtle and Jeremy Wolff both worked by Lewis, moving themselves into second and third, respectively.  The rest of the field jockeyed behind them as Woodworth built a lead and Turtle and Wolff battled.  Turtle would beat Wolff to the line, claiming second place honors.  Wolff settled for third.

Paul Haeg used the outside line to win the Coca-Cola Short Tracker feature on the final circuit.  Haeg passed Todd Kamish who lead the entire race to that point going down the back straight on the final lap, beating him to the line by less than half a car length.  Eric Larson just edged out Mike Dimmick at the finish.

Chevy Miller held off a hard charging duo in Eric Montour and Zack Kersting to win the Lupient Chevrolet of Belle Plaine Bombers.  Miller took an early lead over John Zumberge and built a sizable lead.  Once Montour moved into second and Kersting to third, they started reeling in Miller.  However, they ran out of time as they were at his bumper taking the checkered flag.

In the first of two Miller Lite Figure 8 features, Louis Ansolabehere won by a wide margin, as the race for second was decided in the last turns.  Ansolabehere worked around Steve Dehler and Kari Miller early in the race and built a large lead.  Troy Tuma and Todd Wilson worked their way to the front from the middle of the pack and battled until the final turn, with Tuma edging out Wilson at the line.

In the second Miller Lite Figure 8 feature, Rick Martin was victorious for the third time in as many weeks.  Martin worked into the lead by lap five and never looked back as the rest of the field shuffled.  Matt Dickey moved to second late in the race, with Adam Radiske rounding out the top three.

Jaycen Brockhouse held off late challenges from many drivers to win the Great North Legends 20-lap feature.  The big mover was Scott Brandt, who took the “Ultimate Challenge,” forfeiting his starting position to start last.  Brandt was able to get through the field and finish third, right behind Kim Krause, who finished second.
